Join us on this wonderful 5 day autumn hike in northern Sweden. The hiking adventure is a 5 day tour with 4 days out on the mountain of ”Jämtland” The tour is a ”cabin to cabin” trip only reachable by foot and includes all food and snack needed during the days.

As part of the hike we cross the Norwegian border and take a closer look at the mountains and the cottages on the Norwegian side.

The hike is also more than a guided tour, it’s partly a course in hiking techniques and navigation on the mountain.

The tour is a great opportunity to meet new friends and share the wonders of a fantastic autumn colors.

The hike starts at the mountain station ”Storulvän” in the western part of Jämtland not far from the famous ski resort of Åre. We meet up at Storulvån during the afternoon and share a meal together in the evening. Here you’ll meet your hiking companions and we’ll have a closer look at weather forecasts, maps and navigation as well as practical information. The friendly and experienced guides have prepared the dinner.

Mountain stations and good food!

We sleep indoors all nights either at mountain stations or huts and we only carry a daypack with food and clothing. The route itself is a mixture of classical and famous hiking trails but the tour also take you to more remote and unknown parts of the area.

The guides are certified hiking guides with a lot of experience from the area both during summer and winter.

We hike apx 12-19 km pr day and with a light day pack so this shouldn’t be any problem as long as you are in a normal physical condition. The tour is scheduled according to the ”Åre autumn market” a yearly happening in the village. The market offers great handcrafted items, local food and good deals on high quality outdoors brands. The ”Åre Höstmarknad” is an optional extra and not included in the package. If you need help planning the stay after the hike, we’re happy to help.
