Rough Water Handling with James Stevenson

Develop your personal skills on this 2 day course with BC level 5 coach James Stevenson from Wales assisted by Torbjörn Söderholm, ISKGA Advanced guide / BC Advanced Sea kayak leader. During the days you'll develop your personal and technical skills in an environment that stretches your comfort zone in big seas. We'll work with rock hopping and problem solving of the situations we'll face during the day to boost your confidence on the water. To be able to find the right condition we're often use the exposed stretch of coast  "Bulls head" also called "Tjurpannan" in Swedish.

Prior experience

The course is an intermediate to advanced course and it requires that you have been kayaking before but you don't need to be professional. We expect you to be familiar with rescues and act as a strong part of a group.

To whom are the course suitable

The course is perfect for you wanting to develop your personal skills in a dynamic environment. The course is also perfect if  you're eager to learn from one of the highest educated coaches in the UK within the BC system for coaches and leaders on the water.
The course do not follow a traditional BC Syllabus which means that the group and the coach are more free to focus on each participants aims and goals. The course will be in 4 star conditions (if weather permits) but without focusing on leadership.

Important info

The course will take place in the archipelago of Grebbestad.

Day 1 we will meet 0900 am at Nautopp Kajakcenter Grebbestad to start the day 

Day 2 we will meet 09.00 am at the launching spot.

- Kayaks and personal equipment are not included but kayaks and drysuits are available to rent at a discounted price as participants on the course.
